About HTBT

Our team

Allstars one and all

When you come into HTBT you'll see familiar faces every time. Our happy team here consists of Charles, Hutch, Ron, and Joe. With over 45 years of combined experience fishing these waters you can be sure to receive excellent advice.

You may have noticed that we are called Hidden Treasures Bait & Tackle, but our logo says HTG. If that's confusing for you, here's the explanation:

February 2018 we opened 1.1 miles up the road as Hidden Treasures Galleria. One of the owners had a dream to open a high end thrift store and we opened, based on donations we had received and some fixtures that we were able to acquire used and less expensive. Both owners wanted to use this store to give back to the local community as well as some passion projects afar. We opened up with a food pantry on location. We brought in consignment for local artists as a way to give them an additional source for selling their goods. The location was only 2 blocks from the beach and so we decided to expand our business by adding bait and tackle. This turned out to be a great thing to bring into the store.

Almost 2 years later we moved locations from Willoughby to the Ocean View Shopping Center. Sadly just 2 months later Covid-19 hit the USA and governors started closing up all sorts of stores. One type of store required to close up was thrift stores. The governor said that Fishing is essential so we just expanded on our bait and tackle offerings. In June of 2021 we rebranded this location as HTBT or Hidden Treasures Bait & Tackle. We have expanded further and further into the recreational fishing market. We are working towards supporting kayak anglers in ways that no other shops around here do.

That being said, we haven't forgotten or given up on our roots. We still have a donation based food and needs pantry on site. We also take donations for disaster relief where needed and we still do consignment. As of 2022, we opened doors to our sister store Hidden Treasures Galleria which is back to the original business model on a grander scale, another sister business Hidden Treasures Productions which is a recording studio, and we have launched an internet radio station called Hidden Treasures Broadcast Network.

So what's the future hold for us? We have intentions to start up a youtube channel and a podcast. Eventually we want to open a second bait shop, but that's a couple of years in the future.
